The independent UK life coaching directory

What life coach should I see?

Compare fees, session options and when their credential and insurance were last checked.

Why checking matters

Know what has been checked before you book.

We check each listed life coach's coaching credential and current insurance before publication. Their profile shows the dates and links to their directory record.

Compare these checked facts with the fees and practice details they provide, then decide who to contact.

Our approach

The standard behind every listing

  1. Credential checked. We find each life coach's ICF or Association for Coaching entry, confirm their credential level and its dates, and show the date we checked.

  2. Insurance reviewed. We read their current insurance, check it covers the work they advertise, and record when it expires.

  3. Kept current. We recheck credentials at least once a year, and hide a profile if a credential or insurance lapses.

  4. Independent. Not owned by a professional body, training provider or insurer, and we never take a cut of your sessions.

These checks confirm credentials and insurance on the dates shown. Finding the right life coach is a personal choice, so a short conversation before you book is a good idea. Read our verification standard.

Before you get in touch

The practical details, side by side

Choosing a life coach is personal. Each profile puts the facts you need near the top, so you can compare a few people before deciding who to contact.

  • Session fees and length
  • In person, online and practice locations
  • New-client availability and last confirmation
  • Working hours, languages and access
  • Dated credential and insurance checks

What people come for

Whatever brings you here, start with someone checked

Each life coach lists the areas they work with. Compare their approach, fees and checks, then ask them how they'd work with you. Coaching isn't therapy, so if you're struggling with your health or your mental health, it's worth speaking to your GP first.

Career change

Thinking about a new direction at work? Compare life coaches who say they work with career change, and ask how they would help you weigh up your options. When public search opens, you'll also be able to search for career progression, or for returning to work.

Confidence

Whether it's speaking up in meetings or going for something new, compare how each life coach describes their approach, and ask what you'd work on together between sessions.

Work-life balance

When work seems to take up everything, some people use coaching to step back and decide what they want their week to look like. Ask how sessions would be structured and how often you'd meet.

Life changes

A move, children leaving home, a relationship ending or retirement ahead: coaching can be a space to think about what comes next. Be wary of anyone who promises a particular result.

Questions about choosing a life coach

Short answers about life coaching, our checks and using WhatLifecoach.

Who can call themselves a life coach?

Anyone. "Life coach" isn't a protected title in the UK and coaching isn't regulated by law. Every life coach listed here holds a current credential from the ICF or the Association for Coaching, and we check their entry and their insurance.

What does "credential checked" mean?

It means we found their entry on the coaching body's public directory on the date shown, and checked their credential level and its dates. We check it again at least once a year.

How do I decide who to contact?

Each profile shows the areas a life coach works with, their fees and how they offer sessions. You can ask them about your needs before you book.

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No. Coaching looks ahead at goals and choices. It isn't counselling or therapy and isn't a treatment for any health condition. If you're struggling with your mental health, speak to your GP.

Does sending an enquiry book an appointment?

No. It sends your message to the life coach so you can talk about the next step.

Already have a life coach in mind?

Look them up in seconds. If they're listed here, you'll see the coaching directory we checked them on and the dates we checked their credential and insurance. If they're not, we'll show you what to ask them instead.
